The Surgical Patient Education Lacerations and Abrasions
Home Skills Kit provides patients with comprehensive, interactive materials to
enable identification, optimal care, and healing of an accidental or traumatic
wound. Each skills kit contains an instruction booklet with images, links to
video instruction to support each skill section, a self-assessment checklist,
references for additional support, and an evaluation. The Laceration and
Abrasions Home Skills Kit was developed by a multidisciplinary team of the
American College of Surgeons Division of Education and has been funded in part
by grants from Ethicon, Smith and Nephew, and Acelity.
