materials. This preoperative smoking cessation handout (available
in packs of 25)
informs and prepares
patients for surgery. Content includes a general overview of quitting, how to
prepare for one’s quit day, tips for dealing with withdrawal, and a list of top
non-profit and government resources. The handout includes a space to
individualize a smoking cessation plan as well as space to record a list of
identified smoking triggers. All American College of Surgeons and Joint
