The Surgical Patient Education Ostomy Home Skills Kit provides patients with comprehensive, interactive materials to enable learning and practicing of the skills needed for optimal postoperative recovery. Each skill kit contains: practice equipment (pouch, scissors, stoma model, measurement guide, surgical marker), video links with skill demonstration, an instruction booklet with images, a self-assessment checklist, and references for additional support. The Ostomy Home Skills Kit was developed by a multidisciplinary program of the American College of Surgeons Division of Education and has been funded in part by a grant from Coloplast Corp. View the Pediatric Colostomy/Ileostomy Skills Kit .
