The Feeding Tube Home Skills Program supports patients with education and materials to learn and practice the skills needed for optimal postoperative recovery and is a simulation-based, multimedia program that supports self-paced learning and safe self-management following discharge. The skills kit was developed with multi-association consensus and is funded in part by a grant from Applied Medical Technology, Inc. This is an excellent teaching video for both patients and professional staff.

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) is now granting single hospital networks to broadcast the licensed video program. This standard license is a one-time fee and will include two Feeding Tube Home Skills Kits.* Each skill kit contains practice equipment, a DVD with skill demonstration, an instruction booklet with images, discharge guidelines, references for additional support, and a step-by-step checklist to guide performance and evaluation of skill acquisition.
