Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness (DMEP) Manual

This manual has been developed for participants in the the DMEP course. The course teaches an all-hazards approach to disaster management, focusing on key principles that apply to all types of disasters. This one-day course emphasizes the unique role of surgeons in mass casualty situations, and addresses planning, triage, incident command, injury patterns and pathophysiology, and consideration for special populations. The first edition of the DMEP manual was released in May 2010. DMEP course participants will receive a copy of the manual.
